R.O.U. Marketing International Inc. is a management & marketing company.We provide economic and empowerment services, as well as a support system, to equip our clients with tools, resources and information needed to market, promote, manage and develop their individual and/or organizational needs. Our team has over 50 plus years of combined experience along with their passion and the networks to market & distribute products and services worldwide.

 

Founded in 1989 and incorporated under the name R.O.U. Entertainment Inc. in 1996, the early years of this grassroots organization were filled with learning the entertainment/music industry. While establishing and building strategic rapport with various entertainment/business contacts and producing and marketing several successful special events and comedy concerts, R.O.U. Entertainment also developed and managed talent. In 1997 ROU Entertainment became R.O.U. Marketing Int’l Inc., exclusively dealing with Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music and all that it entails with a heavy emphasis in the mainstream marketplace.

Equipping them with the tools and information necessary to help market, promote, manage and develop their individual and/or organizational needs in order to increase visibility in the marketplace.

Additionally, we offer a boutique of goods and services for distribution at widespread venues (i.e. churches, community centers, schools/universities, theatres, concert halls, supper clubs, embassies, etc.) thereby setting a worldwide platform to bring exposure to our products.

 

 Dr. Roussan Etienne Jr., aka (ROU) is President & Executive Director of R.O.U. Marketing International Inc. Dr. Etienne is a strategic entertainment industry leader in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, with over twenty plus years of experience. Dr. Etienne has a proven track record for creating brands, and has mastered the powerful art of building bridges between private, government and nonprofit sectors. Dr. Etienne’s background and expertise includes grassroots and corporate organizing, brand marketing and sponsorship development, social networking, live concert productions and promotions, and career management. His clients range from celebrities to private companies and non-profit organizations.

 

 

 

Dr. Etienne began to make his mark in the late 80’s as the executive producer of the official auditions for Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jams and BET Comic view in the Washington, DC area. Dr. Etienne also produced the Old School Review Comedy Tour featuring Rudy Ray “DOLOMITE” Moore, Aunt Esther of Sanford & Son, Wild Man Steve, Chris Thomas of BET Rap City & Monica Majesty, among others.) He has also discovered, produced and promoted several rising stars and celebrities including Howard “G” Gaskins, Monique, Red Grant, Joe Recca, Mike Epps, Sheryl Underwood, Sinbad, DL Hughley, and E.U. to name few.

 

For the past 12 years Dr. Etienne has successfully managed, executive produced and marketed a plethora of  successful Christian music projects and campaigns worldwide for established music label's and independent recording artists. Dr. Etienne is an aggressive and bold trend setter with several notable achievements including:

 

 

 

 

  • USA Talent Scout/Agency for WCOPA, often called the “Olympics” for aspiring performers and entertainers held annually in Hollywood, CA.

  • Marketing consultant for JIVE/Verity Records featuring Donnie McClurklin, Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker, Donald Lawrence, and others.

  • Managed Washington, DC’s own Stellar Award winning “Songwriter of the Year” Isaiah D. Thomas.

  • Pioneered the introduction of  a new generation of clean comedy acts with the presentation of Comedian Broderick E. Rice’s live recording concert entitled “The Preachers Son” with Host Tommy Ford from the hit TV show “Martin”.

  • Featured the debut of BET Urban Hip Hop Gospel Choir under the direction of Professor Rickey Payton, Sr., of Sidwell & Friends featuring Karen Clark-Sheard.

  • Developed the U. S. career of Africa’s own RAP/MC self entitled project “Simple DaCapo”, resulting in a nomination for Rap Hip/Hop Gospel CD of the Year in the 2006 Stellar Awards.

  • Administered a national distribution campaign for “Purse Your Dreams”, a children’s project for Future Leaders Outreach Network.

 

 

Dr. Etienne has also served as an  Executive Committee advisor for several groundbreaking civic and faith-based projects including:

 

  • The Congressional Black Caucus/White House All Star benefit concerts featuring Shirley Caesar and BeBe Winans to aid hurricane victims in North Carolina.

  • Steve Jamison Ministry’s “Jammin’ Against the Darkness” nationwide Christian outreach and festival featuring NBA and NFL all stars with an estimated 100,000 people in attendance.

  • Maryland National Parks & Planning Commissions; (M-NPPC) first "Positive” Extreme Teen Talent Search, which has since been implemented as an annual, statewide event.


Dr. Etienne speaks fluent Creole and conversational French and resides in Southern Maryland with his wife and two daughters.
